Kicking Off the New Year

I must admit, I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions, not that I don’t set goals - I do.  I just never seem to be successful at my resolutions, maybe I need to make better resolutions.  But, I. Am. HAPPY for January!

2018 was quite a year of highs and lows for me.  Our son left for France in January to serve a two year mission for our church.  I decided to get serious about selling my art.  I got completely overwhelmed about selling my art.  I went on an amazing Yoga retreat with Jen Pastiloff in France.  I painted my heart out all summer. I missed my boy like crazy.  I obligated myself to way to many things…you get the picture.

I did however make a decision while talking with a sweet friend (or two) that it was time I got out into my own community.  She told me my art was beautiful, but it was my light that I needed to share in person.  So I did and reached out to one local coffee shop, Trilogy Coffee Roasting Co. , that really makes a big deal out of showcasing local artist - God bless them! As it turned out I was also asked to participate with my community in a fundraising event for Art in Public Places hosted by ACED DeLand - I am so excited to be part of this event with so many amazing artists. Then during the Christmas break another sweet blessing came along with the opportunity for me to have a piece of my art at the Encircle House in Salt Lake City, this time a bit out of my own community, but one of my favorite places to visit (I have family there and my boy has/will be attending university close by).  The Encircle Love Louder Art Benefit is a wonderful organization/event helping families and the community to share and show love unconditionally.

As it turns out - they are all in January!  So yay for January!  I hope that you will be able to come see me or at least a bit of my art at some point during the month of January. Praying the year will continue to open up with opportunities to be out and meeting all of you!

Happy New Years 💛
